Tihany is unique when you travel around the lake. When you walk in this small village, one feels as if they are traveling back in time as this beautiful place retains the look and feel of its old village. The houses and buildings are all beautifully renovated, modern, yet evoking the atmosphere of old times.
By the way, I think that the whole of the Tihany peninsula is one of the most special and beautiful places in Hungary. It is home to grapes and lavender, a great many families run small processing manufactories, family businesses, and it is a “wow” experience to visit these places.
On this day I roamed Tihany with my two daughters and a girlfriend. This time I couldn’t resist photography either, we walked the streets of the city until sunset. Luckily, even with covid restrictions, many small places are open, you can taste very delicious coffee, cookies, and lavender specialties.
I hope these few photos give back something of the special atmosphere of the place.
